Picture with Santa

Once all the princess were selected, it was time to start getting ready for our upcoming events.  We will be having princess practices and today was our first one as well as an orientation for our parents.  When our practice was done we went out and had our picture taken with Santa (our practices are held at the South Hill Mall in Puyallup).

Chief Leschi Dinner

The Puyallup Tribe held a dinner at the Chief Leschi school.  They had an amazing salmon dinner with yummy desserts.  It is tradition for the Puyallup Tribe to wrap a blanket around someone who is representing their community.  They will even attach money to the blanket to help the person do all they can to help their community.  The Puyallup tribe wrapped each of us princesses in a beautiful Pendleton blanket with a $2.00 bill attached and gave us a rose too.  It was such a generous gift and a really cool evening!  Here are some pictures from the event.

The $2.00 bill attached to my blanket, cool how they put a daffodil on it!!

Princess Selections

I went to as many of the Daffodil Princess Selections as I could, they were so fun!  At Bethel's Princess Selection, it was beautiful and very interesting. All the candidates did a wonderful job. And it was quite amazing when later while the judges (sorry adjudicators) were deciding and for the performances we were treated to one of the candidates stepping and also the MC's accordion. I along with the rest of the Princesses agree the accordion was extremely impressive and I think I might like the accordion now.  Each high school had their own way of doing things, yet they were all similar and fun and different entertainment while we waited for the judges.  Here are some pictures from some of the Princess Selections I attended.
